This home, this wreckage-box,
this failed salvation–
would-be new adventure, now
a pair of cluttered rooms
with blinded windows.
This New Beginning.
This bed, this furniture,
these temporary rest stops
for our disappointment.
This home, this tinder-box,
this ever-stretching moment
of engulfing flames where
we had once thought to swim.
